This is NOT an am dram group aimed solely at people with acting experience. We will NOT be performing Shakespeare.
This group is for anyone who’s always fancied being in the spotlight but never had the confidence to give it a try.
We will be trying many different kinds of things including short dramatic pieces, comedy (stand up and sketches), improvisation (serious and funny) as well as improvising songs.
Group convenor, Linda Lewis, is a short story writer by trade so she’s never short of ideas. She came to performing late in life and had never sung solo before the age of sixty. It’s only now that she’s discovering the joy of performing including stand-up comedy, musical and dramatic improv.
‘It’s all about finding the confidence that everyone has, if only they can find a way to tap into it,’ she says.
This brand new group offers a safe place for people to try things out and simply have a go. It’s suitable for beginners as well as those with more experience.
Please contact Linda, using the Convenor link above, if you would like to try a taster session or to ask any questions. To begin with, numbers will be capped at ten.
