Meets: Our meetings run from 11am to 12.30pm. Members are welcome to stay for some lunch and informal discussion thereafter.
Things to think about: How to live a good life, what can I know for sure, how’s about understanding, is some innate or does it all come from experience, the use of reason, what is meant by fairness, justice, equality, reality and, for that matter, philosophy? In 2026 we plan to study Agnes Callard's 2025 book "Open Socrates".
In our meetings we try to promote a lively discussion, everyone’s contribution is encouraged and counterviews are perfectly acceptable. Philosophy thrives on opinion and who’s to say which is right or wrong.
New members: We have room for a few more members. Previous involvement in Philosophy is an advantage, but not essential. For more information and to express an interest, please contact Philip Ralli.
We meet 6 times per year: next meetings May 26th 2026, July 7th 2026.
