The primary aim of this group is to have fun! We do this mainly through “improv” (theatrical improvisation) games. It is a very friendly, welcoming and inclusive group.
Some games involve just one or two, others several people or everybody. There is never coercion to take part; participants (especially newcomers) can choose just to observe, appreciating those who are “performing”!
Although there tends to be a lot of laughter, humour is not the only purpose. We also like to stimulate the imagination, e.g. thoughts, sensations, feelings, etc; poignancy even. There is only one rule - you cannot make a mistake! - Developing spontaneity is one of the primary goals. There are no rights or wrongs!
If anyone wishes to perform a short prepared piece, in whichever medium they choose, we would love to include that.
We celebrate interaction, collaboration and fun. And of course, joy! No experience needed.
The group is co-convened by Linda Lewis, who set up the group, Sarah Godwin and Terry Dowling.
