Penny Matthews leads the class based on Pilates. It is suitable for both men and women and helps with concentration, breathing, co-ordination, balance and movement.
Classes last for 1 hour each week, on Wednesdays 10.30 to 11.30am. Although it is good to come regularly, there is no requirement that you should attend every week. The exercises are done in bare feet (no trainers unless you have a foot problem, some people wear socks) and no special clothing is required, just wear something loose and flexible. Classes involve exercise mats and bands but you can try the class first without buying anything, just bring along a thick towel to use instead of a mat.
Due to the age group it is usual for people not to be able to do all of the exercises, the aim is to do what you can with no pressure. We are a friendly bunch.
